This bibliographical note announces the appearance of Volume IV of Monsignor Carlos García Irigoyen's work on Saint Toribio de Mogrovejo. This volume contains unpublished documents copied from the Archive of the Indies in Seville,. Among the highlighted documents is an extensive report sent to the King regarding the Provincial Council of Lima of 1583, where the Archbishop requests measures for the well-being of the Indians, including the creation of colleges for the sons of caciques. Also included are reports where the Holy Prelate accounts for his pastoral visits and presents formal complaints against Viceroy Francisco de Toledo regarding the shortage of priests in indigenous villages and against other bishops of the Council,. The review values these texts as fundamental for ecclesiastical history.
