Resumen

Second and final publication of a Lima’s anonymous diary covering the years 1808 to 1811. The document records the reception in Lima of news regarding the Napoleonic invasion of Spain, the formation of the Central Junta, and the alliance with England. Local events such as the oath of allegiance to Fernando VII, religious rogations, the arrival of ships with funds, and patriotic donations are narrated. Tragic events such as assasinations and executions are also described, and the repercussions of the 1809 Quito revolution. The dispatch of troops and the repression of patriots are mentioned. The diary concludes with notes on changes of authorities and the arrival of news from the Cortes.
