Abstract

This section documents the foundational process of the Historical Institute of Peru in 1905. It includes the supreme decree by President José Pardo, which creates the institution to foster national history, preservation of monuments, and publishing of documents. The list of appointed personnel includes renown figures such as Ricardo Palma and José Toribio Polo. The founding decrees of the National History Museum and the approved Statutes, which regulate the members classes, governance, and funds of the entity, are transcribed.
