In his response to the induction speech, Romero focuses on the importance of Angulo's work as a bibliographer, which allowed him to gain a thorough understanding of what he calls “bibliography”, that is, primary sources as basis of history. Romero recounts the great bibliographers of the Americas, highlighting works such as León Pinelo's Epitome, the work of Nicolás Antonio, and the modern contributions of José Toribio Medina, especially his work on printing press in Lima. He also mentions the national efforts of Mariano Felipe Paz Soldán and other Peruvian authors. Finally, he offers a moving posthumous eulogy to the late member Manuel Jesús Obín, emphasizing his work on the independence.
